Why Is Music Hall Important?
The Crown Jewel in the Queen City's Tiara is Music Hall.
Cincinnati has been in an incredible period of restoration, renewal, and awakening, with investment on the scale that only collaborating corporations and Fortune 500 companies could provide. Cincinnati's defining features, that which separates us from other Midwest cities and small cities around the World, is our architecture & arts.
At the core of the Cincinnati renaissance figuratively and literally, surrounded by over a billion dollars in infrastructure & business investments, is Music Hall.
At the center of Music Hall, is the Friends of Music Hall (FMH)
At the core of Friends of Music Hall, as President, is BHMK Shareholder Peter Koenig, Esq.
Peter Koenig, Esq. has been the President of Friends of Music Hall since 2015 and was part of the team that supervised the historic Music Hall renovation in 2017.

What Does the FMH Do?
The Friends of Music Hall mission is to preserve, improve, promote and provide education about Cincinnati Music Hall. Our vision is to perpetuate Music Hall as the premier cultural center of the region and as a National Historic Landmark of international significance.
Intelligence Driving the Renovation
FMH added the intelligence and historical significance during the massive $143,000,000 renovation of Music Hall in 2017. Otherwise, who would have instructed construction crews, architects, and other tradespeople on the historical importance of parts of Music Hall. This monumental and absolutely necessary renovation ensured its preservation for another century. From a historical perspective, maintaining and restoring important aspects of a building alive with architecturally historical importance is where Friends of Music Hall was of signifigant importance, such as:
- The daylighting of the windows
- The return of the original black brick facade design
- The finials atop the towers
- The original tile floor in the grand entrance hall
- the restoration of the Corbett Tower third floor gallery.
Restoration Intelligence
Insightful and sensitive restoration of historic architecture is essential with an iconic 19th-century building such as Music Hall. That is where Friends of Music Hall stepped up during the renovation and guided the work to preserve, restore, and enhance historically important architectural features of Music Hall.
Revitalization
From Lumenocity to Blink, Music Hall & Washington Park have played a lead role in some of Cincinnati's most notable events and the revitalization of downtown and Over The Rhine Cincinnati. Music Hall places Cincinnati on the Global stage and represents Cincinati with distinction, leaving a lasting positive impression on everyone who enters the hall that is carried with them as they return home.
